This week's SOS challenge is winter (NOT holiday). I made this tonight (Thursday) for my son's daycare teacher, as I don't believe she celebrates christmas, but needed something to put her "holiday" gift in. .. I knew what I wanted to do, but it took quite a while to come together. I like the end result tho, even if my fingers & pjs are covered in glitter & my desk is covered in so much flock it looks like it snowed in my basement.
The background is a random snowflake stamp (Unity) inked in the new SU Illuminance ink on some Memory Box paper (butterfield I think??). I then took a piece of green MB paper (minuet? brioche?) and covered it (and myself...) in stickles & flock (which makes the snow sparkle... lurve). I stamped Lawn Fawn's Winter Fox onto the background, then again onto shimmer CS & colored her, fussy cut then stuck her on top of the snowy base. I stamped the sentiment word by word onto a strip of MB scrap from my desk, then layered it on some silver CS (also hanging round my desk) & made the pennant shape. I stuck the sentiment on & added a mirrored snowflake that's been kicking round my cave forevah et voilà! I feel that there's a giant gem missing from the centre of the snowflake, but too late now. I still love it though. one of my faves.
Woo - the sparkle & shimmer also qualifies this for the current challenge at Lawnscapings too - Make it shine! Mirrors, shimmer ink, brushed silver cardstock, spica pens (for the scarf) and stickles - yup, that baby sparkles!
