For Olivia

I hate that I had to make this card, but I couldn't NOT. You see, sometime on the night of Dec 25, a little girl went to sleep, never to wake again. Little Olivia was only 5years old and was fighting the flu, but was otherwise healthy. This card will be sent to her mum, dad & little sister.

This card is based on one from pinterest, with just smaller hearts & an ivory base vs the white one. And the sentiment was changed, obviously.

Once I had the hearts in place & the stem stitched (!!! i sewed on a card! Well, I cheated and used my SewEasy, but I digress.) I ran the panels through my Big Shot with the Square Lattice EF to give it to look of a quilt. Looking back, I should've defined the flower petals somehow, as I feel they kinda blend in with the background, but ah well. At first I had a button in the centre of the flower, but switched to a pink gem. This seemed more appropriate given her mom's request for those coming to the viewing to "Please wear your most sparkly and bright clothing, tiaras are optional." plus, it just looked wrong, see?

This one's for you, Olivia. RIP sweet princess.
