Happy Retirement!

One of my coworkers is retiring next week and unfortunately I'll be missing his retirement party, as I'll be out of town. I wanted to get his card done tonight, as I think he'll be around tomorrow, and not again til tues, when i leave.

Anyway, he's quite the bike enthusiast, and when I saw this card on Splitcoast, it was perfect... I pretty much case'd it - why reinvent the wheel, right? I added a bit more depth to the sun (yellow and orange CS, with sponging...), slightly different sentiment, and some extra stickles for sparkle, as well as my beloved spica pen to ink up the sentiment.

The words that are bolded in the last paragraph are like that because they are the elements that qualify my card for this week's SOS (#72!!) tic-tac-toe challenge! yay! I was able to use all three elements from the bottom row on my card.. Plus the base is from my pile, and most of the other punched elements are from the scrap bin. PLUS, this week's Simon Says Stamp challenge is to use dies or punches - well i've got that covered! two circles for the sun, one for the helmet, a few small ovals for the biker, word window for the wheel, another for the sentiment and it's layered on a modern label punch. that card's got a lot of punch(ed elements)!

anyway, there ya have it. a card done that satisfies two challenges, and it's not being posted within minutes of EITHER deadline. what is happening to meeeee?
