Friday Mashup

I love the Olympic-themed colors of this week's Friday Mashup, and thought they would be perfect for a birthday card I was asked to make with "a hummingbird and lots of flowers..." I used Gumball Green (LOVE!), Daffodil Delight and Pacific Point papers, Real Red and Basic Black ink (and some PP for sponging). There are also gold stickles in the centres of the flowers, and teeny black gems as the bird's eye and over the i in Birthday. The bird is a digi from Squigglefly that I colored using markers & a blender pen, and then embossed with iridescent powder from SU. I colored two and popped up the embossed one for a bit more realistic look.

I had wanted to use my favorite EF (ie the Elegant Bouquet one by SU) instead of the christmassy one I ended up with, but it seems to be lost in the craft cave. I used the wooden frame trick that I learned from Patty Bennett's blog waaaaaaaaaay back to get a similar look with a solid folder. I think it worked out ok... thoughts?
