Tuesday Trigger: Mantastic

Here's my entry for the "Mantastic" Tuesday Trigger over at Moxie Fab World, as well as for two other current challenges -Ribbon Carousel and SOS 55.

It all came together when I saw the sketch at the RC blog, and thought "hey, I can do that.." and then the Tuesday Trigger image gave me an idea for colors...  Here are the TT image & sketch so you can see what I was inspired by..

and then what I came up with...

I felt that the TT image had greys, dark tealy blues, a dark neutral (I think it's brown, but I used black in my card) and a lovely pop of red, which I called Cherry Cobbler. I used a bunch of scraps (win!) to make this - all except the Island Indigo (darker blue) pieces for the  base & flowery thing. There are 2 strips of Cherry Cobbler seam binding (swooooon) ribbon, with a piece of basic grey taffeta ribbon covering their seam. Black scrap for the pennant, and really old scrap for the piece between the grey panel and the DSP - to the point I don't even know the name of the color, it was almost (already?) retired when I started with SU... - and a tiny CC heart. I like the pop of silver in the flowery thing too.. but then I had to spray the II petals,as they were too dull.. I still like how it turned out, and LOVE that the HFD sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes fit so perfectly too.

So there you have it. Thoughts?
