Dynamic duo 8

If there are two colors that are farther from my "go to" colors as River Rock and Always Artichoke, I honestly can't think of what they could be. So when I saw this challenge mentioned on Leslie's blog, it kept coming into my mind. I had to try SOMETHING.

When I remembered that my parents 40th anniversary was this wknd, I knew I had to make something, and I was determined to use those colors. After playing around a bit, I thought the RR was kind of close to one shade of hydrangea, so I pulled out my SU Because I Care set, et voilĂ ! a card was born!

I colored the hydrangea with my SU markers, and had to stamp it a few times before I was happy. I stamped the flower part a second time, then fussy-cut it out (ugh) and popped it up on dimensionals. A bit of suuuuuper old ribbon for a bow, and I was almost done. The card was missing something, but seeing as my supply of AA and RR supplies are pretty limited, what could i use? I ended up finding two bits of long-retired RR DSP in my "really old paper" bin, and fit them together to use as a mat. the pattern didn't line up, but where you can just see enough to break up the AA layer, I didn't think it would matter. A few of the tiny SU pearls in hydrangea centers, and the Happy Anniversary sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes, and the card was finished. phew.
