Look how far we've come...

ok, me, not we, but you know what I mean.

It's been a year (give or take a few weeks) since I went to my first SU! workshop. In that year, I've made DOZENS of cards, post-it holders, and the odd album or two.

Jessica at craft-o-rama posted her results from a weekend challenge to post some of your first cards. I thought I'd look back and see what my first ones (even from years back, pre-SU days) looked like, to see how things had changed.

Pre-SU (c. xmas 2004 & spring 2006, respectively)

After my first SU workshop (c. Feb 2008).

This card was a test for a card swap. It's a bit messy, but I do lurve it. The end product ended up with a similar layout, but totally different (and with waaaaaaaaaaay too much embosssing, hah).
Crazy. In ways, I feel like I'm still such a stampin' n00b, but in others, I feel like I've been stamping forever. I guess the first cards I made/things I stamped (our wedding invitations, napkins, and favor tags, followed by the thank you cards a few months later) was over 4.5 years ago, so it is forever, but then you have to consider the breaks I took for like oh, a year and a half in 2006-07, and all of 2005, so I'm just starting again I guess. It'll be interesting to see where I end up in another year.
