I had a pretty crappy afternoon, so spent some time chillaxing in the cave tonight. I had to make a sympathy card for a friend of our family, and I also wanted to make a quick card to say thank you to the friend who was the first to place an order with me.
First - the sympathy card. I love the pink & brown together, and the rounded corners just soften it a little I find. Jes at craft-o-rama had sent me the image to color in a blog candy package a while back - so glad I had saved it til now. I can't wait to get Eastern Blooms so I can have a similar stamp to use from now on.
Second card - A very quick thank you. I had the Thanks graphic cut, embossed and even matted, just sitting and waiting in my 'will use someday' bin. I cut a piece of shiny cardstock, crop-o-dile'd some eyelets in, cut a length of ribbon, et voila! Instant card!
I finally did buy a new paper cutter, btw. I got the Fiskars rotary cutter that carley suggested. Even with the 40% off coupon from Michael's, it was a bit more than I had wanted to spend, but hey - business expense ;) Not like I won't use it all. the. time. Tick me off though. for the hell of it, I checked how much the exact same thing was listed for at AC Moore in the US (essentially the same store as Michael's up here). $44. I paid $48 after 40% off. I really wish I'd have thought of a paper cutter when I was in Maine back in May, as the mark up on stuff here just really ticks me off. Ah well. I'm not about to drive 8 hours to save $4, but man. Still ticks me off.
